EU food supplement health claims: wording, conditions and marketing use
Browse a controlled editorial set of source-backed profiles. Each analysis starts with the authorised wording and conditions of use, then maps the boundary to the copy your customer will actually see.
5 claim-level decision pages
This is a focused analysis library, not a complete searchable copy of the official EU Register. One useful page per distinct regulatory task. No synonym doorway pages, no copied register dump and no automatic compliance verdict.
“Magnesium contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue.”
A product-facing interpretation of the authorised magnesium fatigue claim, separating normal-function language from instant-energy and medical promises.
“Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.”
A practical wording map for the authorised vitamin D immune-function claim — including the source condition and where common marketing language starts to overreach.
“Calcium is needed for the maintenance of normal bones.”
A claim-level decision page for calcium and bone maintenance, with a clear boundary between maintaining normal bones and promising stronger bones or disease prevention.
“Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high intensity exercise.”
A claim-level interpretation of the authorised creatine performance wording, including the 3 g daily intake, adult high-intensity-exercise audience and the boundary to broader strength, energy and endurance promises.
“A combination of artichoke leaf dry extract standardised in caffeoylquinic acids, monacolin K in red yeast rice, sugar-cane derived policosanols, procyanidolic oligomers from French maritime pine bark, garlic dry extract standardised in allicin, d-α-tocopheryl hydrogen succinate, riboflavin and inositol hexanicotinate reduces blood LDL-cholesterol concentrations. High LDL-cholesterol is a risk factor in the development of coronary heart disease.”
An authorised disease-risk-reduction claim whose use remains restricted to the named applicant during the protected-data period. Authorisation alone does not establish that another operator may use it.
Can I use an authorised EU health claim?
Usually only after verifying the exact wording, conditions and complete presentation. A smaller group of authorised claims is also protected by proprietary data, so use can remain restricted to the named applicant for five years.
Suppvera keeps that right-of-use gate separate: GENERAL, APPLICANT RESTRICTED, LICENCE REQUIRED or EXPIRED PROTECTION.
Check the Commission’s proprietary-data guidance ↗Authorised wording is only the first row of the decision.
Compare the exact substance–function relationship, its core product condition and the point where common marketing language changes the meaning.
